The October meeting is a hands-on meeting:

There will be a few things going on at this meeting.

We will have the lathes set up ready to demonstrate any issues that you would like to have demonstrated by our Tutors and advanced members.
So bring along your issues or even a piece you have been having difficulty with and they will endeavour to help you.

Mark, our Chairman is bringing his Sorby Pro-edge. So if you have any issues with sharpening on this device or would like some of your gouges sharpened or re-shaped, bring them along.
Paul Williams is bringing in a Tormek bench grind system.

I will be bringing along my texturing tools, if anyone wants a demonstration of how they work or would like to have a go.
Bring along some pieces to play with.

Richie Newboult will also be at a table to discuss his finishing techniques and the materials he uses.
Hopefully he will bring some of his excellent pieces to show.

There will also be a table for tool swaps, so if you have some tools you no longer use or want and would like to swap etc. bring them to the table.

There will also be a table for wood swaps, so again if you have any that you have an excess of and would be prepared to swap bring it along.

The challenge for this month is “A favourite piece”

This is not one you have gathering dust in the attic but a piece you like turning, be it a box, a bowl, a goblet, whatever is your favourite design.
Have fun turning it and bring it along.

And, there will be cake!
