The meeting this month was started with a demonstration by Dave Atkinson.

Dave treated use to a three piece domonstration.

The first was a cup tree, followed by a cake stand and rounded off by a hollow form.

  1. Dave started the cup tree by making the pegs to hold the cups.
He used a template to ensure all the pegs were the same and used a sizing spanner to ensure all the tenons were the correct size.

Next he shaped the centre post and applied some texturing.
After completing the post he drilled it to accept the pegs.
The he tiurned the base to accept the post and pegs.

Dave then assembled the cup tree, apologies at this point as the photographs of the finished items did not turn out.

  2. Dave’s next item was a cake stand
  3. The final item was a hollow form, Dave went through  all thevarious tools he used for hollowing and demonstrating some of them. He did not finish the item but left a tenon on the item so a club member could complete the item at a later date.
