Reminder:

Hopefully we will have 3 lathes up and running for members to have a go at various aspects of the craft.

We have Howard ‘the skew meister’ Hughes showing us how to best use the skew chisel, come and have a go.

We also have Dave ‘the thread’ Harding showing us how to master the skill of thread chasing. All are welcome to come and give it a go.

We also had Paul ‘the Pen’ Williams booked in but this will have to be postponed until the next hands-on meeting.

At the request of Ann Kirkwood, I will demonstrate the use of the Robert Sorby tools for creating a captive ring. All welcome to try them out.

If you have something specific you would like some help with our qualified tutors will be only to glad to help. Just drop me an email so I can prepare them in advance.

A reminder regarding the February monthly challenge.
This is a pair of spindle orientated turnings; it can be anything turned in that orientation. So, candlesticks, salt and pepper grinders, goblets, off centre turnings, figurines, fruit etc. Let your imagination flow.

e.g. off-centre salt and pepper, follow the link, there are lots of examples out there to take inspiration from.
