Robert gave us a demonstration of involuted turning in the form of a candlestick.
Involuted turning involves glueing together 2 or more pieces separated by paper, turning a shape, then splitting the piece along the glue lines and reassembling the piece with the shape now on the inside of the turning.

After reassemly Robert proceeded to make the base for the candlestick and put it together to continue shaping the overall piece.

Robert demonstrated the techniques involved in developing and turning coves. beads and fillets to acheive the desired shape.

At the close of the meeting the chairman thanked Robert for an excellant demonstration which was much appreciated by the members.
