Spent an afternoon of “social distancing” in the shed and came out with this 4 sided box in ash (turned on five centres) with a cocobolo insert in the lid.
While the club is closed down why not post pictures on here or the Facebook page to show what you are making and keep the “club spirit” going.
Hope everyone is staying healthy.
It’s clear that we have turners with great skills in the club and demonstrations if made less onerous for the presenter we could have some really good evenings. Trying to “ start and finish “ a project within couple of hours and talk to audience a big task.
Pete if members sent you images with brief comments would you be able to put them on the website?
I can’t see the club being allowed to hold a meeting before July. So keeping communication going would help to keep members in touch.
Hi Vish – if someone just wants to post a few photos with a brief description they can perhaps most easily do that on our Facebook page.
Nice little box Dave but a bit confused about the five centres.
I was only talking to Paul last week and suggested posting what we are making during lock down to keep up interest and you beat me to it. I blame the good weather and concentrating on the garden.
I hope to get my report in before you get your second one in, well done.
To get the 4 distinct sides to the box you need to mount the wood on 4 centres, then to hollow out you need to turn it on the true centre, so 5 centres in all.
Trust you to turn this devious little box Dave. I must investigate how this is achieved.
How can one of the members post pictures onto the site to share with the club ?
Realistically this lockdown could last for April I guess or longer but I have lots of wood!
Best wishes to everyone – look after yourself
